This past week has marked the official release of artist and author Sarah Glidden‘s “How to Understand Israel in 60 Days or Less,” a graphic narrative of the author’s travels to Israel with a Birthright tour. A slew of interviews with Glidden are now available, highlighting her thoughtful struggles with this complex topic. Here is a small selection:
Interview with David Wolkin of the Comics Alliance
Glidden’s posts about the creative process of producing a graphic book at Vertigo
Glidden’s next project will be a book exploring the experience of journalists in Northerm Iraq, Syria and Eastern Turkey, currently titled “Stumbling Towards Damascus.” A comic from Glidden’s travel journal appears on the Common Language Project’s Road to Damascus Project.
This Spring, she will be leading an author workshop at Harvard as part of the CMES Outreach Center’s programming for K-12 educators and librarians.
